Are You Busy or Just Not Setting Boundaries?

Many people claim to be busy, yet many people also claim not to have enough time to do things and report feeling overwhelmed. That's funny: "I'm busy but don't have enough time to do the things I am busy with." HUH!??

This means we have weak boundaries with saying no and we people please. This means we are not choosing our time and energy wisely, and this is a choice. It means we are taking on WAY TOO MUCH. Comment below if you feel like you have taken on too much in the past, or even at this moment. It means we need to slow down and FOCUS. It WOULD be great to develop a healthy balance with all things? Yes, it would––so start with HOW YOU USE YOUR TIME.

Boundaries With Agenda

As a person who can admit to biting off more than I can chew, I can tell you from personal experience –– having boundaries with that behavior feels like freedom. Think about it like a piano. If you want to play a beautiful song, you do not hit all of the keys at once, do you? No, you find a flow, and that flow requires order and patience. The song of your life requires this as well, and we can achieve that by setting strong boundaries.

Most people assume that I am always busy. I even have people who text me, and in the lead of the text, it will say, "Hey, I know you're busy, but...' The funny thing is, I'll be sitting there playing Call of Duty or watching the Bears games when those messages come by.

Yes, I have busy times ( in fact, I have office hours), but I refuse to live a fake busy life –– if that makes sense. I strongly suggest that you make a plan for your time. I set my goals up for 12 weeks at a time, and then I use a weekly planner to help me stay focused.

You owe it to yourself to give yourself time off, time, ,reflect, and time train your body and mind.

Build Your Boundaries

To reach your goals, you need boundaries. Without boundaries, you don’t get any closer. Here are some of my personal goals:

- Staying fit

- Financial stability

- Growing my friendships

- Learning and feeling life

- Having peace of mind in life

- Having a fruitful relationship

- Exploring new opportunities in life

- Being a positive influence as a parent

All goals we care about immensely, right?) How are we going to do them though, just by hoping and praying? Ha, no, we have to take action, but we need boundaries and vision to know when/where/how to apply what energy needs to be applied.
